Let me set the scene for you. It's 7 on a Friday evening, still light, but the sky has been gray all day and there's the smell of rain in the air. It's chilly and the town is quiet for a Friday night. I just saw Friends with Money, a movie I enjoyed quite a lot. I'm in a thoughtful mood.
I drive up one of the main roads where all the galleries are, and it's almost deserted. I stop by the gallery where I'll be working in another month. It's still closed for the season, and I'm just here to check the mail. Inside the old adobe building, it smells like wood and cool earth, like coming home to my parents' old house after being away for a while, like a stone church or a castle.
I hadn't been out in the courtyard since my interview early this month, so what I see is a surprise. Everything is blooming, including the wisteria. All the shrubs are leafy, birds are everywhere and the whole place feels like a secret hideaway. I'm going to love it here.
Thats going to be a great place to work. If I could go out and enjoy that kind of courtyard it would make my day.

Just beautiful...from my little work cubicle, I am transported...can almost smell the wisteria. Thank you for making my Monday tolerable.
