The news is big since last I wrote.
As I may have mentioned, my brother is working in India for a few months, training people at a new office. My parents got the wild idea of visiting him before he comes back (to Montreal), and while at first I though it didn't sound feasible in the way of timing, my work and all that, we decided to go for it anyway. So I asked for a little over a week off, and we're going toward the end of March.
So now it's a matter of getting a travel visa, some immunizations and malaria pills. Yum yum. And then a 26-hour flight. Perhaps I need something stronger than Dramamine. Any ideas?
Forrest Baird always mixed sleeping pills and shots. Please don't do that. I love your liver, albiet platonically.

Do you get really motion sick on planes? You could probably get a prescription for something stronger.
Personally, I just like to sleep on planes. I find it super helpful to bring a face mask with me to block out light.
Also, a little thing to watch out for -- on some international flights, the headrest has wing-like thingies that can fold out from the seat, thus giving you a natural place to rest your head. It's not intuitive, so I'm forwarning you, and you should definitely look for them on your plane.

best country ever to visit. eat plenty of mutton. and don't use your left hand. also, i found that keeping some wet wipes handy was nice. often, you'll be using bathrooms without modern conveniences if you stray at all from the city hubs. also, if you spend much time walking around major cities, you won't notice it at the moment, but a nice layer of fumes and dust will attach itself slowly to your face.

Thanks, all! I'll be sure to take lots of photos, especially of elephants. I'll look out for the airplane seat head rests, eat lots of mutton and make sure Matt combs his hair.

If Victoria blogged she'd have lots of advice from Bethany's and her trip to India last year. We bought Bethany a Sony mp3 cause it goes 40 hours between recharges. Avoid overnight trains if possible, I think they'd both say.
It'll be fun to read about this upon your return!

I am not going to comb my hair! I am abusing the heck out of being able to show up at work in jeans and a t-shirt with messy hair. I've even started wearing sandals sometimes.
India is so awesome.
