Just a small sample of our travels so far in India. We're currently in Jaipur, in the north central state of Rajasthan. We've already been through Bombay, to Pune and Ellora/Kailasa. We've seen so many palaces, ruins, forts and other amazing architectural marvels. As well as thousands of people. The first Indian I met was a girl on her way back to Hyderabad, in the south of India. We were on the same flights from Boston to NYC-Kennedy and then to Bombay. She told me, "India means people. And people means India." It's true. And such colorful people!
The photos below show (from left to right): Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves, riding elephants up to Amber Palace, inside Amber Palace, the streets of Jaipur (plus the sweet pastries we bought after our guide gave us a taste; they're made only at this time of year during a festival, are shaped like honeycombs and taste delicious).
After Jaipur, we travel to Agra and the Taj Mahal, then Delhi and fly back to Bombay. Then on Saturday I fly home, Matt leaves Sunday and our parents leave Wednesday. Only a few more days! Stay tuned for more once I arrive home.
Nice post on ajanta caves, The rich carvings, murals and sculptures of these caves offer real surprise to the visitors. The sculptures and the murals well depict the way of life that existed in that time.
Keep up the good work, i'll be back soon. hope to find some more interesting posts in the future.
