When I was 16, I wrote myself a letter, not to be opened until my 26th birthday. "No sooner, no later" is what I wrote on the front of the sealed envelope.
I must have got the idea from some book. I've been carrying this letter around for a decade, usually forgetting I have it. But whenever I move—or clean out my desk like I did last weekend—I remember. Is it silly? Possibly. Do I care? Not really.
So far I've been waiting 9 years, 11 months and 18 days to find out what my 16-year-old self had to say. Probably nothing earth-shattering, but I'm looking forward to it just the same.
That's fabulous. :) Only you April. Only you.
