A little here, a little there
What is the fruit or berry in the second picture? I am completely stumped. Beautiful photos, as usual.

Mum, I have no idea what kind of berry that is. It's a tree I pass every day. Don't you have tree identification books? Or try Google images - but nothing seems to match.

I respectfully disagree. The leaves are nothing like a dogwood. I think it's probably a European Mountain Ash: http://www.treeplantflowerid.com/Sorbus-aucuparia.php. Also, the bark looks like this: http://lasonline.iastate.edu/isu_trees/Sorbus_bark.html.

I saw the exact same tree outside of the back door of the First Congregational Church. I've seen that tree with dogwood blossoms too. Today I'll take a picture. Whatever it is, I think I want one for our yard. Wonder if I can take cuttings? I'll send the pic soon.

Went to take a pic last night on the way to the library. Batteries low. GGRRRR! Our Marcus maple tree is gorgeous.
